Calm Before The Storm

Christmas, New Year, and January have flown by, and what a busy time it was in Mansfield and around our beautiful region.

Holiday makers abounded, with the lakes, rivers, camp grounds, holiday houses and accommodation sites all very busy, and the cooler than usual weather in January didn’t dampen the enthusiasm either.

Thankfully January was also very quiet for fire activity thanks to some good rains which greened up the landscape.

We are now into February, a time when school’s in, the credit card bills are in, and belts are in as everyone gets back into a regular routine.

However there is a host of activity coming up later this month and into the next, starting with the second annual Bonnie Doon Busker and Music Festival on Feb 20, 21, and 22 at the Bonnie Doon Recreation Reserve.

The first one last year was amazing, and this year looks to be even better, with 35 plus acts coming for the weekend, headlined by X-Factor Grand Finalists: Brothers 3, who are just superb.
High Country Wine Cellars will be on site for the whole weekend, selling a range of wines by the glass and craft beer, and we will be joined by Tin Shed Cider and a number of local food providers in a special wine/food area at the edge of the oval.

So pop over and say G’day and sample a glass or two of superb local wines, beers, and cider while enjoying the huge array of music on offer. Go to: www.bonniedoonmusicfestival.com for more info and tickets.

Then we will be into March and the long weekend, and before we know it, it will be Easter, one of the biggest weekends of the year in Mansfield.
Hopefully our next newsletter will have some positive news about our application to VCGLR (Liquor Licencing) about our application to expand our operation into serving wine by the glass in our store on weekends. Stay tuned!
