What a busy time it’s been in Mansfield during the last 6 weeks or so. Easter was crazy busy, and with reasonable weather it kept everyone out and about and enjoying some delicious Mansfield wines.
Later in the month we had a visit by 120+ cyclists from the Bike Friday Club who spent a very hectic few days exploring every inch of our region by bike, and, or course, sampling the Fridays Child range of wines at our cellar door.
Then on Anzac Day it was the Day on High wine and food festival organised by the Upper Goulburn Winemakers Association, and we represented four wineries in our shop: Mt Cathedral, Little River, Murrindnindi, and Gioiello.
May has arrived now, and so too a very cold snap, heralding the start of winter, or red wine season as we like to call it here.
May is also “Aussie Wine Month” in Australia, and that being the case, every month of the year should be called May.
Great news for one of our local wineries, Sedona Estate, who have had their 2013 Sangiovese rated a sensational 96 points by James Halliday-come and grab a bottle today and give it your rating.
Ros Ritchie Wines teamed up with Travis Bolton at Maggies (The Magnolia) to put on a superb wine and food evening on Saturday night, which again demonstrated what wonderful food and wine combinations can be produced right on our doorstep.
